Frequently asked questions

What is the dress code for the ceremony?
Smart casual for the outdoors. Keep in mind that you might have to walk on uneven or potentially muddy terrain. Comfort first, but we welcome personal flourishes and fashion statements! We recommend checking the forecast before you travel, and consider packing some extra layers if it looks like it might be on the colder side.

*there is no dress code for Friday night's Welcome Dinner. Just come as you are for check-in ready to get warm around the fire.
what will the weather be like?
Historical temperature averages for mid-October in Old Forge typically range from highs of 59°F to lows of 39°F. Expect sunny, moderately chilly, and breezy weather with a light chance of rain. Bring a warm sweater for the evening!

do i need to stay AT THE CAMP?
We can only accommodate half of our guests overnight at the camp due to the number of available heated cabins and beds. Please check your RSVP assignment for more information on your accommodations. If you haven't been assigned a bed at the camp, you're still invited to participate in daily camp activities throughout the weekend. All are welcome to relax, hang out, and/or take part in activities at the camp all weekend!

DO I NEED TO STAY the entire weekend?
We hope that many of you will be able to stay Friday night through Monday morning, but we understand that schedules may not permit it. Please check our schedule page to review the full weekend's itinerary.

Are the cabins and indoor spaces heated?
The cabins and shared spaces are heated, but we still recommend that guests pack layers for outdoor activities in the daytime and for chilly weather once the sun goes down.
are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, the camp does not allow pets. An exception was made for Periwinkle who may be a part of our ceremony.

is food provided if we are staying at the camp?
Campers staying onsite will be fed breakfast, snacks, and lunch every day with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options (Friday–Monday). Bottled water, beer, and wine will be available as well, while supplies last! If there's anything special that you'd like to eat or drink over the weekend, feel free to bring it. Campers can store their supplies in the kitchen.
what about food storage?
You will have access to the kitchen (including stove and fridge), along with limited tools (such as pots and pans), plates, and cutlery throughout the weekend. We ask that you clean and return items after use. You are welcome to bring extra snacks and drinks; just make sure to tag them with your name!

will there be Wi-Fi and cell service?
There is no Wi-Fi at the camp and cell service can be spotty in the woods. Walkie-talkies will be placed in each cabin in case of emergencies.
are there laundry facilities on site?
Laundry facilities are unfortunately not available onsite. You can do laundry in a pinch at a laundromat in town.

what should i do in case of a medical ISSUE OR emergency?
We will have a first aid kit onsite. If you can't get cell service, alert the camp owners via walkie talkie. The nearest emergency hospital is Rome Health.
